Work and Wedding

The past few weeks have flown by! Jenn was in town over the weekend and we did a whirlwind bridal store tour. Work has certainly kicked up a notch and sometimes we don't get home until 8pm or 9pm. After all the stress of wedding planning (of course, never at work) and working, we often find ourselves calling for takeout.

What do we eat, you ask? Well read on to find out:

First up is the perennial pizza. Because we don't live in the burbs of VA anymore, we don't get The Italian Store pizza, arguably the best pizza in the DC metro area. Instead we indulge in uber-greasy NY Style pizza from Radius in Mt. Pleasant. Looks yummy? The best part is they give you magnets every time you order and when you collect 10 (a feat already accomplished by Team Purple House) you get a pizza for free!

Second and by far Chris's favorite is Lucky Carryout. What is so "lucky"? The Sesame Chicken. It's the only thing Chris has ordered. This place is 2 short blocks away and it's neon sign screams dinner when we walk home from the metro. Lelaine likes Lucky, but it doesn't have fried chicken and fried rice deals like it's nearby competitor Yum's. Clearly, it's just as greasy.

Finally, the healthy option. I know you may not think it's big on our list considering our first two options, but we sometimes try to eat healthy. The best place to do that around here is the Whole Foods buffet. Salad bar, hot food, sushi, sandwiches, shrimp, whatever you may want it's here. Plus, Lelaine loves to get a muffin or croissant for the next day in the bakery aisle. Unfortunately, Whole Foods isn't easy on the pocketbook. Often times my recycled brown box contains $12 worth of food. Not counting my Honest Tea, croissant and whatever random thing they suckered me into buying at the cash register. It is nearly impossible to leave that place without forking over $30! But, all in good health.

I love how you display a picture of the food cartons after each comment. I like the Whole Foods...wished we had something like that here. There's not too many places here that you can eat good food for a great LOW price. Oh well, keeps me from eating a lot of Take-out so I can cook more at home. I'm sure you're excited for all of the wedding plans to come together. I'm very excited for you!! Keep posting updates! Love you!
