Cheers

Danny and Chris raise a glass at Cheers. Danny is a real life Norm - he has a VIP card.

Beautiful Boston in January

We headed to Boston last weekend to visit Dan, one of Chris's college roommates. The cold and rainy weather made us think that maybe there is a reason why flights and hotel rooms in Boston are so cheap in January.

We persevered and managed to do most of the big tourist activities - see Paul Revere's house; eat clam chowder, lobster, and Boston baked beans; shop on Newbury St; and visit Norm and Cliff's stools at Cheers.

Chris stands in front of a statue of Sam Adams at Faneuil Hall - a brewer and a patriot.

"Driven from every other corner of the earth, freedom of thought and the right of private judgment in matters of conscience, direct their course to this happy country as their last asylum." --Samuel Adams, Speech, 1 August 1777

Below, from left to right are the Old North Church, a plaque for Paul Revere, and Revere's house. There was a mean pizza place and Italian bakery in the neighborhood, where PR went to have fun when he wasn't warning against impending invasion.
