Ready to ride!

Hopefully this winter brings a bit more cold and snow to the mid-Atlantic area this year because I am ready! During the summer of 2011 I purchased a snowboard at a pretty good price while we were in Vail. It seemed like a good investment because earlier that year we went to the slopes many times. Well, in 2012 Chris dislocated his knee, I had bunion surgery and we had the warmest winter in decades. I am placing my bets on a better 2013 since over the weekend I bought bindings for the snowboard at long last!

The bindings are a bit flashy, but they were on sale and a bit better than the plain white ones. I got Flow bindings, which have a "speed entry" system. All of that means I won't spend the first 15 minutes off the magic carpet trying to get my feet into my snowboard. Unfortunately, I couldn't buy anything to prevent me from falling about a dozen times.

Thanks to Patagonia, I also have a song to listen to my first ride down. I highly recommend  watching the Juneau video. The song is by Conner Youngblood and is called the Warpath.
