old man river

Other than Friday, the day of the week when the one magazine I subscribe to arrives, I don't like the mail. On Fridays I get the Economist. Every other day, anything I receive is almost always bills or junk mail, neither of which I really look forward to receiving.

When I went to the mailbox on Saturday something pretty funny happened: there was a letter addressed to me from the AARP. While I might wish I were retired, sadly I am not, and I would prefer to think I'm not quite yet in their target demographic. Apparently not, since they conveniently enclosed a membership card with my name on it. It has since found its way to the circular file.
